Cathy Loo, Office Aberration

There's something off about your new manager. The hair on the back of your neck stands up when she walks by and cicada- like cries buzz in your mind when you catch yourself at the receiving end of her glare. You've seen coworkers enter her office, never to walk out and have their desk mysteriously cleared out by the next morning. You shudder at the way she takes glee in pushing impossible deadlines and harassing employees for the smallest typos in their reports. There's something off about her and your meaningless job here at AFO Corp. You see men in black business suits congregate around the water cooler and wonder why your eyes can't seem to focus on the features of their face. HR only speaks to you in incomprehensible garbles and clicks and their footsteps sound waterlogged when they slither by your desk every morning on their way to the break room. You've caught your own hands typing with a mind of their own and when you try to read what you wrote you can't comprehend any of it. But you click "send email" anyway and your manager is pleased with your work.
